Alex Ross Wonder Woman
All Woman All Hero: Alex Ross' Wonder Woman
No offense to the Amazon superhero original artist Harry Peter, but Wonder Woman never looked better before Alex Ross. It is clear that we're talking here about caricatures, of course, so Lynda Carter fans have no need to be jealous. In fact, Alex Ross' Wonder Woman is patterned a lot after the formidable actress. Alex Ross' Wonder Woman artwork is, to say the least, womanly and 'very human.' A far cry from the traditional cartoony illustrations we were used to seeing before Wonder Woman: Spirit of Truth.
The giant comic book, the last of DC's Big Three generated a lot of positive buzz when it was first released in 2007. Apparently the comic with didn't just generate buzz. It has also generated various merchandize, all of which are based on the Alex Ross Wonder Woman artwork. Perhaps most interesting among these merch is the Alex Ross Wonder Woman Bust model kit.
However, the builder, Anthony Coukos, made some slight changes. The grooves on the breastplates were deepened, for example. Then, the bracelets were given more shape. Finally, the utility belt was raised a bit to give a glimpse of Wonder Woman's hips. Nevertheless, the Alex Ross Wonder Woman Bust model kit is just as powerful and feminine as any other Alex Ross Wonder Woman. And just as beautiful as that you see on the comic. These Alex Ross Wonder Woman collectibles only prove that Alex Ross rules the super-realism/super-hero art world.
