Alex Ross and Spiderman have had a long, successful and rewarding affiliation; from toys to artwork, collectibles to toothbrushes. Alex and your favorite web slinging super hero have been the best of pals. If you are a fan of the Astro City series about the lore and ideology of superheroes, you can thank Alex Ross for co-creating this amazing comic line. He is one of the true unsung heroes in the world of comics and graphic novels.

His artwork is renowned for its realism but at the same time it allows the viewer to delve into a captivating world of monsters, villains and purveyors of justice. One of his most captivating pieces is that of Spiderman and Mary Jane kissing; immortalized in film, it remains one of the most popular and most requested prints. While his talent has outstretched to other avenues of collectible merchandise, his original artwork, sketches and paintings remain his most impressive endeavors.

Ross's efforts have earned him much praise including the National Cartoonists Society Award, Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award and the Will Eisner Award. Above and beyond professional recognition, his fans are what keep him motivated to constantly challenge himself in all aspects of his work. With the 2004 release of "Mythology: DC Comics Art of Alex Ross", new fans and seasoned veterans were treated to some of his most outstanding pieces.

While most of Alex Ross's exposure has come from his Superman pieces he is also accomplished in other artistic areas. He has produced pieces for the Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe video game, designed costumes for the 2002 Spiderman film and had a brief collaboration with metal thrash band Anthrax where he designed two CD sleeves for them. His most notable side project involved limited edition comics paying tribute to the fallen heroes of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
